One designed a one valve irrigation drip system for use in the front yard. All plants require minimal water and will flourish in the desert environment. We used a lot of the usual subjects – bougainvillea, dwarf palms, and lantanas.
We installed a 6′ high perimeter fence made of the concrete masonry units to provide the yard with privacy from the surrounding city. The yard actually fells much larger with the fence around it. Plenty of room for a workshop, swimming pool, RV parking, etc.
In an effort to increase the energy efficiency of the home we added R-13 to all exterior walls and R-39 to the attic. The pictures that follow show the progression from empty wall cavities, to insulated walls and ceilings, to rough drywall hanging, to primed and painted drywall.
The 2nd stucco coat was applied yesterday and needs a couple days to dry before paint. It’s starting to look like a house now from the outside.
The first stucco coat was applied over the weekend. This coat will dry for a week and then a 2nd smooth final coat will be applied.
